Unit + Layer: Bridging Embedded Finance and Accounting for Modern Platforms

The Unit and Layer wordmarks, joined by a plus

We’re excited to announce our partnership and integration with Unit. Unit’s embedded finance data now flows directly into Layer’s accounting and bookkeeping in real time.

Platforms using Unit’s embedded finance suite can automatically sync transactions and get a clear, up-to-date view of their accounting through Layer.

Why it matters

Accurate account and transaction activity is the foundation of proper SMB accounting, as it represents the true source of a business’s revenue and expenses. When this data is automatically connected to accounting, it provides a complete and reliable view of a company’s financial health. With Unit’s account and transaction activity flowing directly into Layer, platforms can deliver real-time financial reports as transactions occur, rather than relying on traditional bank connectors that introduce 12 to 24 hour delays. The result is faster, more informed decision-making with confidence that the numbers are always up to date.

How it works

With this integration, all of an SMB’s embedded finance activity on Unit is automatically synced into Layer. Bank and card transactions flow directly into Layer and are reflected in financial reports like the profit and loss in real time. This ensures accurate financials without manual reconciliation.

Accounting and banking go hand in hand. Partnering with Layer allows us to extend the value of embedded finance, and platforms can deliver a more complete financial solution for their customers.
